·To ensure that all required formalities have been completed before item (s) are purchased.

· To process purchase requisition, research products, clarify specifications, document competitive bidding.

· To follow up back orders, dictate any special arrangements and terms for delivery, communicate to department the expected delivery date.

· To maintain up-to-date filing system on pricing and vendors to ensure immediate and accurate access the information.

· To research and select vendors in given circumstances, evaluate vendor performance, utilize different vendor sources to place orders.

· To search out alternate vendor or supplies during period of shortage or stockout.

· To reveie comparative statement of quotation received from suppliers and forward the same for approval of appropriate user and his seniors.

· To negotiate delivery and length of shipping/delivery time of material with vendors/carriers.

· To evaluate and implement most cost effective method for procurement and verify billing

· To review stock status reports for item usage including unusual demands

·To maintain the accuracy of the data base by constantly spotting & correcting error and update information.

· To ensure that pending indents are expedited or resolved amicably.

Sitara Chemical Industries Limited is a renowned and large chlor alkali chemical complex of Pakistan was incorporated in 1981 and began producing caustic soda in 1985, initially at a rate of 30 metric tones per day. The plant’s capacity was gradually increased over the years to current level of 610 metric tones per day. In addition, various by-product facilities have been added and expanded from time to time to cope with growing demand. Company entered into Textile Spinning Business in 1995. The company has its own 30 MW Power Plant and now going to set up 35 MW Coal Based Power Plant. Sitara Chemical is the largest entity of Sitara Group and its other sister concern include Sitara Peroxide Ltd, Sitara Chemical Industries Ltd (Textile Div), Sitara Spinning Mills Ltd, Aziz Fatimah Hospital, Aziz Fatimah Medical & Dental College, Sitara Shopping Mall, SMARTS Health & Fitness Club etc.
