1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate with our US staff
  2. Author code for projects that meet functional and technical requirements within project timelines. Toolsets required for this development are Informatica PowerCenter and SQL Server.
  3. Participate in team standups providing status on development activities.
  4. Participate in providing estimates for development efforts.
  5. Develop technical designs for implementation on assigned features in collaboration with dev team lead, and provide supporting documentation as needed.
  6. Communicate with development team on technical decisions, to facilitate understanding and consensus on approach.
  7. Write code that adheres to best practices and company standards with a philosophy of “simpler is better”, but also ensuring the security, scalability, and performance of the application.
  8. Demonstrate a high level of effectiveness in issue resolution and performance tuning.
  9. Write unit tests and test code thoroughly before checking into repository.
  10. Determine appropriate updates to data warehouse landing, staging and data mart tables and develop SQL scripts to update data as required to maintain dimensions and address issues. Understand impacts of updates and identify proper approach applying understanding of Type 1 and Type 2 changes and CDC.
  11. Write supporting documentation for deployment of software, assist in deployments, and develop deployment communications as required.
  12. Debug and find root cause of bugs found in software; troubleshoot and fix complex issues. Find root cause and fix performance issues relating to reports, queries and ETL processes.
  13. Identify opportunities to improve code and provide cost effective solutions for those opportunities.
  14. Identify ways to automate coding processes and make recommendations to manager.
  15. Work well with external team members to facilitate the development of synergies between the EDW/BI team, other IT teams and customer groups. Address job failures, monitor ETL processes to ensure data will be available on time for all BI users.
  16. Provide 3rd level support to BI users which will be in the form of analyzing data in the data warehouse to identify root cause of problem or validate as non-issue.
  17. Act as first point of contact for 3rd level on call for the network operations center (NOC) and address failed or stopped ETL processes accordingly to ensure data will be available for users by 8 a.m. CST.
  18. Advanced ETL development experience (Informatica PowerCenter) is mandatory.
  19. SQL server development experience is required.
  20. SQL query and performance tuning skills are highly preferred.
  21. Prior experience working with these tools in a data warehouse environment is highly preferred
  22. Knowledge of OLAP data sources and SSIS is a plus, but not required.
  23. Data Quality tools experience is a plus.
  24. Prior experience with OBIEE, BIP, or Siebel is a plus, but not a requirement and lack of these will not inhibit the candidate from being exceptional in the role.
  25. Prior experience with agile methodology and TFS, also a plus but not required.
