ACCOUNTABILITIES
•In collaboration with the Project Coordinator and the Logistics Coordinator, planning, elaborating and reviewing the annual budget for the Watsan activities in order to identify and give a response to the needs of the mission and the targeted population.
•Monitoring on a day-to-day basis the implementation of the Watsan activities in the project ensuring compliance of MSF standards, protocols and procedures, and reporting to the Project Coordinator on the development of the ongoing programmes including the following:
Designing, implementing and managing all Watsan interventions in the project. (including, but not limited to: water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, hygiene, and infection control.
•Conducting routine Watsan assessments in collaboration with project medical teams to identify Watsan needs at project level, and making recommendations for response activities to the line manager (e.g. Project/Field Coordinator, Watsan Coordinator/Referent/Focal Point).
•Ensuring the Watsan contribution to the development and planning of emergency response strategies and resources, in collaboration with the medical and logistical teams
•Ensuring availability, proper purchasing, and appropriate technical specifications of required materials and equipment through planning, organizing and overseeing the inventory of the Watsan stock
•In collaboration with the Project Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator and the HR Coordinator, participating in the planning and implementation of HR associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required to correctly perform all logistics activities pertaining to his area
•Providing technical support to the medical team in identifying possible \\\"risk factors\\\" (e.g. behavioral practices, environmental sources of infection, and transmission routes) and offers solutions for infection control.
•Actively contributing to the integration of Watsan activities in the medical intervention offering project proposals and work plans.
•Ensuring proper collection and monitoring of Watsan data. Ensuring multidisciplinary data availability. Providing analysis of data and regular reporting of results (as requested by line management)
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring the day-to-day implementation and administration of assigned Watsan activities at project level, including but not limited to, water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, vector control, and dead bodies management
Ensuring that the MSF procedures and protocols are followed by the Watsan teams to guarantee the operational quality of the project;
Ensuring the maintenance and repair of technical equipment in the project to guarantee an adequate running of Watsan activities;
Ensuring the distribution of the materials and tools used in water treatment, hygiene and sanitation (e.g. physical organization and inventory of stocks, receiving and processing orders for water, sanitation and hygiene material, check that the amounts received are recorded, and check monthly consumptions, etc.);
Supporting the Watsan Manager in ensuring an appropriate emergency preparedness and response capacity (physical verification of stocks, contacts, transport means, staff training). Ensuring appropriate assistance to the project response team and if required, participating in emergency activities or exploratory visits
Supporting the Watsan Manager in the team planning (e.g. staff rosters and admin, HR processes, etc.) and informing and involving the Watsan Manager in case of any major management or technical issue, and providing all required reporting
Planning and supervising the HR processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, tasks definition and internal and external communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required for the activity
Participating in data collection and reporting as required
Working As WatSan Supervisor and assisting the Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (Watsan) Manager in carrying out and overseeing Watsan activities, including the use of tools and materials in accordance with MSF standards and regulations, Water and Sanitation Assessment in Community , in order to enhance the target population\\\\\\\'s health and living conditions.
Major Job Responsibilities
Supervising the Maintenance of WatSan Protocols within Departments.
Operation of Surface Water Treatment plant ( Chlorination, Coagulation, Pumps, Bladders and Tanks cleaning).
Assessment of Water and Sanitation Conditions of Flood affected Areas.
Designing, Cost Estimation ,Construction of Latrines ,Hand Pumps and Washing Areas According to MSF guidelines and Protocols in flood affected areas.
Training of Staff About Water, Hygiene , Sanitation , Infection Prevention and Waste Segregation.
Community Engagement and Promotions of Water , Sanitation and Infection Prevention guidelines.
Support to hospital WatSan activities ( water supply, hospital waste management and, infection control).
Supporting WatSan Manager in Data Collection and Data Base Entry of Assessment Surveys and Routine Work.
Mapping and planning of Weekly Assessment Target Areas and Routine Works.
Technical Skills
Installation of MSF standard Water Tanks, onion Tanks, Bladder oxfam T-70.
Plumbing and Sanitary line Installation.
Operation of Indoor Residual Spray Pump and Fumigator.
Designing and Installation of MSF standards latrines and other Sanitation Infrastructure.
Operating of different Incinerator.
Laboratory Skills
Water Quality Testing Analysis of Biological (Fecal Coliform ), Physical ( Colour, Odour,Test, Turbidity ) and Chemical ( PH, TDS,TSS,Nitrates,flourides, phosphates and Free Residual Chlorine) parameters.
Chlorination and Disinfection including FRC.
Sample Collection Transportation and Storage.
