Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain SMTP servers to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues related to email delivery, including bouncebacks, spam complaints, and blacklisting.
- Implement best practices for email deliverability, including authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and IP reputation management.
- Collaborate with the development team to integrate SMTP servers with internal systems and applications.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in email protocols, and implement necessary updates and patches.
- Manage relationships with ISPs (Internet Service Providers) and email service providers to maintain positive sender reputation.
- Monitor and analyze email delivery metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Develop and maintain documentation for SMTP server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on email-related issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and incident response.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in administering SMTP servers in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of email protocols, including SMTP, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
- Experience with email delivery platforms .
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills..
