Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that the school is meeting the academic needs of students while complying with the AKES, P policies and practices.
  • Participate in the development of the assessment programs and services to ensure achievement of targeted levels of skills by the students in all the learning areas.
  • Analyze data and situations; render judgment, recommend decisions and solutions to academic needs efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee educational programs and establish positive relations to the personnel associated with the programs; set high standards.
  • Evaluate and supervise school curriculum and instruction program within the section.
  • Establish and maintain clear communications and cooperative working relationships with Principal, Vice Principal, Head Teacher, staff and other departments through announcements, letters and telephone communications.
  • Arrange workshops for teachers regarding the implementation of quality teaching and assessment methods in the classes.
  • Discuss shortcomings if any with the Head Teacher.
  • Help arranging the remedial classes for the slow learners in collaboration with Head Teacher.
  • Keep a check on the improvement of slow learners and supervise the remedial classes.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
  • Take teaching load of 15% to 25% per week.

Organizing School Examination and Result Preparation

The Academic Coordinator is expected to carry out all the work related to student assessment with the help of School’s Examination Committee and Student Affair Office. The work includes:

  • Development of examination timetable & assessment Schedule in collaboration with the Heads
  • Organizing Seating arrangements
  • Arranging necessary resources for the assessment / examination
  • Ensuring Typing and cyclostyling of papers
  • Assigning duties for invigilation and other tasks of examination period
  • Monitoring the on-going assessment activities
  • Developing modalities & schedules for marking copies and result preparation and monitoring them
  • Coordinating with the School’s Administrative and Finance Office
  • Coordinating with the SSC and Student Affairs Office for the following administrative affairs of the schools:
  • · Organizing school examinations.
  • · Planning and organizing work related to the examination process.
  • · Registration and Renewal of School recognition, if required, with the concerned authorities.
  • · Preparing requisition for the purchase of resources like stationary, examination material, teaching aids etc

Maintaining Records

  • To maintain all the records of school-based examinations, like term-wise examination result sheets, final examination records, etc.
  • To maintain record of individual student academic progression & achievements.
