· To supervise Payroll and Taxation section, of AKES, P Finance.
· To ensure the implementation of section related financial policies across all regions in Pakistan.
· To ensure all statutory and legal compliance relating to the sectional responsibilities.
· To analyze operations and ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain system based solutions.
· To ensure disbursement of payroll on time and to supervise maintenance of employee Provident Fund.
· To coordinate monthly/quarterly/annual financial & Taxation closing and to ensure the timely update of books of Accounts and subsidiary records
· To analyze staff cost related accounts for reasonableness and to provide financial reports to the management / functional heads.
· To develop and recommend controls to ensure the accuracy in payroll and taxation reconciliations.
· To review staff tax calculations, and ensure the timely submission of returns.
· To manage and ensure timely & accurate filing of all corporate; and taxation returns
· To act as the key point of contact & support for all taxation matters and to liaise with tax authorities & provide tax audit support.
· To coordinate and deal with internal and external Auditors.
· Undertakes other functional responsibilities as required / assigned

Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P) is a network of educational institutions that combines the operation of 159 schools and 5 hostels with the management of programmes to enhance the quality of teachers, academic resources and learning environments in Pakistan through community partnerships and long-term interventions. It is one of the largest third-sector networks of educational institutions in Pakistan and part of an international network of over 200 schools spread in 8 countries of the world under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Reaching out to the remotest areas of the country, AKES,P has been providing quality education in the region for the past 110 years. It is a direct provider of education for nearly 36,000 students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and facilitates access to higher education through the provision of scholarships, hostels and other educational support services.With more than 2,000 employees, of whom over 1,500 areteachers, AKES,P is also supported by over 2,000 volunteers. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, the first AKES,P schools were setup in the 1940s; since then they have contributed significantly toincreasing the literacy rates and social development in theremote, mountainous, harsh and ecologically fragile regions ofNorthern Pakistan. AKES,P currently operates 151 schools inGilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, providing education to over 27,000students, of which 54% are girls. Through these efforts, AKES,Pis continuing to play a critical role in women’s development inthe region. In the Southern Region, AKES,P operates four schools in Karachi,three in Hyderabad and rural Sindh and one in Hafizabad,Punjab, with over 8,900 students. All AKES,P schools follow theNational Curriculum but place special emphasis on the teachingof English, Mathematics, Science and the increasing use ofInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT).
