The Manager of the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sterilization and distribution of medical instruments and equipment within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, and evaluate CSSD staff provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure staff competency in sterilization techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Must keep the instruments complete in all sets required for surgery.
  • Must keep the linen in good condition. Turnover must be maintained.
  • Manage inventory of sterile supplies, including ordering, receiving, and storing supplies.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure the effectiveness of sterilization processes.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, calibration, and repair of sterilization equipment.
  • Must maintain a sterelizing record and produce on demand to prove sterlization procedures.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and functioning to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits as needed.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of RO Water in the department
  • Liaise with other departments, such as surgery, nursing, and infection control, to coordinate sterile supply needs and address any concerns or issues.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations of the CSSD.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in CSSD or in related field.
  • 5-8 years or relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Must be a computer literate
