Responsibilities:

The position is responsible to provide technological vision and leadership to whole Information Technology (IT) Function including Management Information System (MIS) & Geographical Information System (GIS) while developing goals, operating plans, policies and short- and long-range IT objectives by developing and implementing company’s IT Strategy in line with changing requirements.

The incumbent will lead all IT services & infrastructure, overall functioning of MIS, GIS and other software applications by developing strategy and defining policies, procedures, and control systems.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing software and database requirements by overseeing activities like coordination with relevant stakeholders; analyzing company’s application needs, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed ones.

He/she will provide recommendations by defining applications architectures, security and functional specifications, data back-up and recovery solutions. He/she will collaborate with unit heads and executive leaders to translate the Company’s strategic initiatives into applicable technological initiatives.

The incumbent will also play his/her role by strengthening technological capabilities of staff and other stakeholders, through increased involvement, research & innovation and infrastructure development. He/she will be responsible to develop and coordinate a broad range of technology-based resources, maximizing the availability and use of these resources.

To maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development and implementation best practices.

He/she will enhance IT preparedness and readiness level to ensure timely data backup and recovery arrangements and develop IT manual to cover issues like Disaster Recovery Planning, Standard Operating Procedures, Turnaround Time, IT equipment compatibility etc.

Preparing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with vendors and other Units to reduce the turnaround time and improve quality of service shall also be incumbent’s responsibility.

The incumbent will also be responsible to direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and infrastructure.

The job requires evaluating international best practices and applying them as and when appropriate. 

Incumbents Profile:

  • Master’s degree with specialization in IT from a recognized and leading institution. 
  • 10 or more years of experience in Information and Communication Technology Management, of which preferably 5 years in the similar role.
  • Previous experience of implementation of company-wide ERP or MIS will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated success in management of teams in complex and demanding environments.
  • Experience should also include exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication systems in a multi-site client-server environment.
  • Well versed with systems design and development process, including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation and operational management.
  • Good understanding of Business processes/operations and their interrelationship.
  • Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Information Security Management.
  • Must possess strong Leadership skills, Interpersonal skills, Communication skills.
  • Should be a Strategic thinker and result oriented individual.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in various office productivity software programs like word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentation applications.
