Job Description:

Opportunity:

The Chief Academic Officer (CAO) reports to Principal DTI (Descon Training Institute) and is the key individual responsible for developing immediate, short-term and long-term plans for technical education in line with the business plan of the institute. Additionally, the CAO will develop curriculum and training manuals. He will be part of Management Team, but will also have close day-to-day interaction with instructional staff reporting to him. The ideal candidate should have strong strategic thinking capabilities as well as strong execution skills across various forms of education styles.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research and identify trends and needs, and establish future program directions accordingly
  • Assess quality of existing program, and modify it according to the identified requirement
  • Interact with instructional staff & implement new program/initiatives
  • Get national and international accreditations for courses offered
 
Skills Required:
 
Qualification:

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor of Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical):

Experience:

• 10 to 15 years experience in management of vocational education
• 5 or more years of installation and/or maintenance experience in a process plant environment (preferably fertilizer, refinery, gas processing plant or a power generating plant)

Skills:

• Outstanding organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with varied audiences using multiple mediums
• Strong computer and technology skills; proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•Ability to work collaboratively with senior management, instructional & other staff
• Ease at managing competing demands and determining top priorities independently
• Ability to work under pressure and perform tasks with limited direction
• Have a great attention to detail and provide error free results/documents
• Very proactive and take initiative when completing tasks
