Ecole des Lumieres is looking for a PRE-SCHOOL TEACHER for its Early Years 1 (3 to 4 year old) class. EDL is a French-American school. Position needs to be filled by August 25th 2014.
Expectations
We expect our Preschool Teachers to be educated, kind, loving, fun, professional and creative. Teachers should instill a love of learning in their students and focus on helping each individual student learn at his or her own pace. Teachers should be reliable, punctual and independent.
Responsibilities
The Preschool Teacher is a half-time (8am to 2pm) or full time (8am to 5pm) position with the following responsibilities.
1) Your role:
- Lead a class of students between 3 years and 4 years old, in collaboration with another teacher for the same grade.
2) The following will be required from the Preschool Teacher:
- Work on building the syllabus in collaboration with the principal
- Plan daily activities and lessons that correspond with the curriculum, in collaboration with the rest of the teaching team.
- Help students explore the world around them.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Plan art, music, and movement activities.
- Help students learn classroom procedures.
- Help students learn personal responsibility and respect for fellow students.
- Use appropriate behavior management and classroom discipline; recognize and adapt to problems.
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Attend trainings as necessary.
- Collaborate in the preparation of classroom related documentation.
- Participate in the preparation and production of pedagogical material.
Qualifications required
- Excellent English language skills required Only graduates from English Medium schools will be considered.
- Experience in a preschool is necessary, experience with the youngest levels is a plus.
Salary Package:
- Rs.30,000 to Rs.40,000/month depending on timings and level of experience
