Job Description
Excelsious is an outsourcing startup based in Karachi. We are looking for an experience web apps developer to lead the development of our in-house apps as well as enable implementation of some third party market leading apps. The person must have demonstrable experience of independently leading development of top quality web apps using LAMP framework. Previous experience of developing a multi-vendor marketplace, job portal, geotagging features or multivendor shop is highly desirable.
The selected candidate will lead the end to end web app development lifecycle, covering the following:
- Lead end to end product life cycle: requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Develop detailed app development roadmap, starting from MVP to fully functional app with ability to prioritise functionality.
- Establish detailed app specification and wireframes.
- Break down program specification into its simplest elements and translating this logic into a programming language.
- Develop the apps including coding or ability to identify and incorporate appropriate source code/theme from online marketplaces.
- Involve experts/freelancers with appropriate skills to complete the part of job that cannot be done in-house.
- Conduct testing and install the app into production.
- Can deal with basic tasks relating to web-apps.
- Work with the client contact team to understand the feedback and problems reported by clients and resolve that.
- React to problems, correcting the program and adapting the program to new requirements
- Implement strategies, methods and tools used to develop mobile applications and team coordination
Required Skills
- B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years experience in web application development using Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP.
- Specific demonstrable experience of developing a marketplace web app with geotagging. (e.g. Uber style taxi app).
- Ability to develop a clear project plan and deliver against it.
- Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation
- Proven experience building and launching professional quality apps.
- Some understanding of HTML5/CSS3 (Boostrap), AngularJS, PhoneGap/Cordova, JSON Data Exchange, AJAX and related technologies.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communications skills
- Experience with continuous development/integration techniques
- Knowledge of Content Management Systems
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) and upgrade plans.
- Should be a self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, resilience and a desire for professional excellence
- Experience measuring UI/App performance, especially around UI response time and network use
Please note that position is based in Karachi. Though it is a permanent job, freelancers with good work ethics and demonstrable experience of developing successful apps can apply for a project.
