• Owner of bank-wide Operational Risk Management (ORM) policies / Framework and procedures.

  • Developing, updating, disseminating and promoting the operational risk strategy, policy, Standards and procedures throughout the organization which includes Governance Structure, roles and responsibilities and personal accountabilities for managing operational risk.

  • Co-ordinating the implementation ORM Framework and the processes as outlined in the Framework to identify, measure, monitor and control operational risk effectively.

  • Ensuring adequate ORM infrastructure, including Ops risk limit structure, methodologies, management information systems for consistent and timely reporting using IT tools.

  • Promoting ORM awareness within the bank through training and workshops.

  • Prepare and monitor annual tolerance level pertaining to operational losses (to be monitored through Operational loss data base. resulting in gauging losses for the bank Review of all policies, procedures and systems from operational risks perspective.

  • Changing the way people perceive Operational Risk and inculcating a sense of ownership of risks at all levels.

  • Developing and maintaining a standardized Operational risk assessment criteria as well as common risk terminology across the organization.

  • Planning, developing and evaluating performance of ORM resources within the Division.

  • Identifying and communicating emerging group wide operational risk issues and assisting business/support units in developing mitigating strategies.

  • Review and validate annual operational risk capital charge calculated by Capital Management unit in Finance and preparing the bank to move to advanced Basel III approaches.

  • Ensuring cross-risk co-ordination, as well as promoting co-operation amongst business lines, specialist support units, the independent ORM function and internal audit.

  • Maintaining Industry database of loss events and a bank-wide inventory of internal loss events covering all branches and key business units as well as support units including Head Office.

  • Identifying and assessing significant historic loss events and determine how to protect our own bank against the same.

  • Benchmarking existing risks with Internal Controls as well as industry-level historical loss events.

  • Identifying and assess key operational risk exposures and maintain/monitor bank-wide inventory of key risk indicators on a monthly basis through a robust bank wide reporting mechanism.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to Ops Risk Co-ordinators for conducting Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA) exercise of their respective RCSA reporting units.

  • Align operational risk management performance to business targets and performance measures.
