The role of Graphic Designer will take care of designing needs of the organization’s diverse work ranging from small banner designs to policy papers and book designs. The designer will be responsible for developing innovative infographic designs based on the content produced by the organization’s research teams and policy and campaigns team.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- To understand and conceptualize the design needs of various teams at the organization
- To have discussions with the teams on their concepts about the designs- such as infographics, social media and mainstream banners, titles, any brochures, advertisements, research papers, etc.
- To have skills and working knowledge of appropriate software to come up with skillfully designed pieces. Minimize the risk of errors in text of designs, get final feedback from the relevant teams requesting for the design as they are the theme-related professionals.
- To handle carefully the sensitivities in graphic designs with a non-partisan approach when there is a content risking conflict.
- To maintain the confidentiality of the documents once handed over for design.
- To provide support to Director External Engagement in high-influencing engagements, arranging meetings with parliamentarians, top officials, and political leadership and any coverage of such meetings/events as and when required.
- Any other assignment as required by the supervisor.
Skills
- Ability to communicate concepts and design rationale to the research and policy teams.
- Knowledge of design, typography, and production of printing and web products.
- Expertise in graphics, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc
- Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, and CSS.
- Knowledge of Macintosh and PC platforms.
- Good writing skills, knowledge of composition for editing, and knowledge of grammar for proofreading.
