Under the supervision of the Head of Internal Audit & Compliance, the incumbant will conduct various types of audits and reviews in accordance with the accepted professional auditing standards to promote effective internal controls, efficiency of the policies and procedures, review the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information, review the means of safeguarding assets and verify their existence and to ensure adherence to applicable laws.

 Main Responsibilities & Tasks:

  •  Assist Head of Internal Audit & Compliance in the development of audit and compliance plans for Hashoo Foundation
  • Assist with the review and audit of compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws, and regulation
  • Assist  in the execution of the internal audit Plans
  • Ensure the proper and accurate record keeping of the Internal Audit and Compliance Department
  • Facilitate in the collection of data and information for Audit and Compliance reviews
  • Maintain an audit planning and history log, including findings and recommendations
  • Coordinate and provide assistance to external auditors, as requested
  • If required, will prepare comprehensive written audit reports, including recommendations for corrective action or system improvements (including risk management) in the overall functioning of Hashoo Foundation and or of specific programs, departments, units, regions or projects
  • Assist in the follow up of Audit Observations
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and effectiveness of the Internal Control System
  • Highlight potential risks and deficiencies to Head of Internal Audit & Compliance 
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Head of Internal Audit & Compliance.

Essential Competencies

  • At least 1 years of relevant experience preferably with in the development sector
  • Excellent knowledge of computer systems; proficient in MS Excel, Ms Word, Outlook; familiar with accounting software; strong ability to present, analyse and process numerical information and financial and statistical data.
  • Strong work ethics and values.
  • Willingness to travel, at times in difficult conditions.
  • Experience in training and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills are must
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Sound judgment, flexibility, adaptability and cultural & gender sensitivity
