TORs for hiring Trainer for Internal Staff’s Training on reporting and communication skills

The International Rescue Committee since its inception in 1933 is actively responding to various disasters across the globe and provided humanitarian services in Pakistan to the large influx of the Afghan refugees in the 1980s.

For the last thirty years, the IRC has worked in the thematic areas of livelihood, water & sanitation, hygiene, education, environmental health, public health and primary health care, emergency assistance and protection in KPK of Pakistan.

The International Rescue Committee Pakistan (the IRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organisation operational in Pakistan since 1980, and is currently implementing various projects in Pakistan.

The IRC has launched various projects in KP to facilitate the government of Pakistan in providing humanitarian assistance to the dislocated families. In this regard various projects are underway including health, education, water and sanitation and protection.

The IRC core function is protection across the globe and chairs protection co-lead with UNHCR in Pakistan.

The organization has deployed national staff to implement protection projects covering legal assistance and advice, protection monitoring (Identification of protections incidents and concerns, referral and follow up), community services in both off camp and in camp, capacity building/advocacy ( arranging seminars/workshops, trainings, information dissemination) for external organizations.

The organization is interested to hire national consultant to technically enhance the staff skills and arrange one day training for the staff on reporting and communication.

The Following TORs should be observed.

Organization’s/ IRC’s role:

· The hiring organization will provide stationary including writing pens, charts, markers, multimedia and any other associated stationary required.

· The organization will arrange hiring of Hall for the required period of training.

· The organization will pay Pak Rs.20, 000 for 1 day in lump sum which will include accommodation, travelling cost, training delivery from which taxes will be deducted as per prevailing policy.

Consultant Responsibilities:

· The consultant will conduct one day advance desk review of the program documents in advance.

· The Consultant will conduct staff training needs assessment in advance of the participants through soft format.

· Pre-Test evaluation needs to be conducted and post-test evaluation with difference in trends.

· The consultant will mainly deliver training material according to the participants needs based on participatory approach and relevant case studies of the program.

· The consultant will deliver training sessions on reporting and communication skills.

· The consultant will share detailed report of the training with program.

· Payment will be linked to pre-test/post-test results, training delivery and report submission.

Skills

The consultant must have at least master degree in social sciences and must have extensive experience in delivering training on report writing and communication skills. With addition to it, the consultant must have working experience with TDPs (IDPs) in different areas and should know the cultures values of TDPs. Over all, the consultant must have at least 7 years experience as trainer with different national and international organizations.
