Overview:

Jhpiego an international non-profit health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University seeks IT Assistants to provide network and desktop administrative support. This position reports to IT Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems, applications, networks, printers and scanners.
  • Assistants may work at a help desk, answering calls and e-mails regarding the computer network or communication systems.
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and resolve hardware or software faults.
  • Assist in maintaining Internet service (LANs,WANs) firewalls, and telephone systems.
  • Provide IT related technical support, setup of computers, printers, multifunction devices, audio-visual equipment and other information system whenever required, for conducting conferences/ workshop/ trainings/ seminars etc.
  • Providing daily support for computer network users.
  • Assistance in regular data backup. 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent knowledge and skills
  • Hands on experience in installation, troubleshoot of Windows based operating system
  • Experience in Hardware and Network Troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify problems related to malware, virus issues in computers
  • Knowledge of Hardware /software based Firewalls
  • Knowledge of Servers and settings
  • Familiar with Android and other smartphone software
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Willing to frequently visit field offices for troubleshoot and support

Jhpiego has been working in Pakistan since 1997 when it provided technical assistance under a series of maternal and reproductive health projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). One of the Project aims in Pakistan is to improve the quality of public and private sector health services. Healthcare providers will be trained; health facilities renovated and services will be expanded and improved. We also will improve access of women and children to health services especially the poor and those who do not or cannot go for health care, by educating communities and families and setting up better transport and communications systems. By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan. Complaints are handled with complete confidentiality and individuals are encouraged to report when corruption, fraud, waste or abuse may exit in the USAID/Pakistan projects.
