Overview:

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University is implementing Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program to introduce and scale up high-impact maternal, newborn and child health interventions in Sindh Province. Jhpiego seeks suitable candidates for the following position, based in Karachi.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The individual has to work with various partners at all levels (government, partner organizations, professional associations, and others) to promote joint planning, implementation and analysis of the transport function.
  • Work closely with AMAN Foundation for Tele Health component.
  • Coordinate with district teams to conduct mapping and identification of local transporters.
  • Adopt pregnancy transport guideline for safe and timely transportation of pregnant women and prepare training schedules quarterly.
  • Undertake ongoing field visits throughout districts for the participation in, or monitoring of, trainings and quality assurance related project activities.
  • Prepare routine reports on results of visits and for project progress.
  • Attend and facilitate periodical reviews at provincial and district levels.
  • Ensure coordination and facilitation within the other program areas to connect with linkages and referrals.
  • Develop monthly reports on client use of linkage and referral component.
  • Ensures that project activities are in accordance with plans of action and review of action plans on monthly basis.
  • Support in Develop/ adopt IEC material for dissemination of Tele Health Number.
  • Any other work assigned by the supervisor related to linkages and referrals.
Skills Required :

  • Minimum Bachelors in basic sciences, social science, management or business
  • Previous experience of working in INGOs and preferably minimum of 2 years of experience in implementation of community mobilization in health projects.
  • Ability to prepare activity plans and follow tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Good verbal and communication skills in English and Urdu. Working knowledge of Sindhi will be an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan.
