Description: Assistant Manager Training& Business Development

Asst. Manager Training & Business Development Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a database of HR officials of various organisations and regularly meet them to promote new and upcoming trainings
  • Close new business deals by selling open training courses, available seats in ongoing training programs / sessions and promote and sell new and bespoke training packages to organisations
  • Acquiring training business through negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Origination, development, management, ongoing evolvement and delivery of all training activities across Corporate and Development Sector
  • Co-ordination of all training activities, provide day-to-day management of all logistical elements of training delivery, and lead the ongoing development of DSIs growing interests within the corporate and development sector
  • Establish and manage a high quality panel of industry-experienced and qualified Master Trainers
  • Manage the expectations, experiences and learning environment for all trainees for whom DSI holds responsibility and address any issues or matters that arise in a professional, appropriate and timely manner
  • Negotiate and enter into contracts with clients, trainers and trainees and manage these contracts accordingly
  • Effectively engage and work alongside funding agencies, accreditation authorities and trainers to deliver on a range of innovative training activities
  • Manage and monitor training activities, budgets, indicators and targets and record accordingly
  • Convene regular team meetings for information sharing, forward planning, review, evaluation and budget management
  • Prepare management reports for CEO, board of directors and Managing Authorities
  • Keep appropriate and up-to-date records of all training activities as required by DSI, clients and other accreditation bodies and monitor satisfaction levels amongst trainees, trainers and external bodies
  • Ensure open, professional and honest communication within team
  • Demonstrate creativity, innovation and drive in addressing this role
  • Co-ordinate the work of all internal and external trainers and clients
  • Facilitate meetings of trainers and manage performance evaluation in relation to the quality of their training activities and delivery standards
  • Identify, make application and secure new business and partnerships to support company training activities
  • Identify new areas for training activity expansion and ongoing development
  • Identify gaps in our current training offering, secure additional contracts and business leads and grow our training portfolio
  • Animate, publicize and promote DSIs training services and develop strategic alliances with other training organisations and customer groupings as appropriate
  • Keep up to date with industry developments in training and development practice and implement new innovations as appropriate
  • Build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
  • Locate or propose potential training deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree/MBA in Human Resource Management or equivalent;
  • At least 3 years of experience of selling and promoting training programs to for-profit and non-profit organizations;
  • Business Development; Linkages with Corporate & Development Sector;
  • Business Closing Skills; Motivation for Sales; Prospecting Skills; Sales Planning; Selling to Customer Needs;Leadership & Management;Strategic Planning &Market Knowledge; Communication &Presentation Skills; Energy & Creativity a must. Must be willing to Travel.
