The incumbent will be required to:

  • Undertake planning, designing and development of teaching material/resources.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of training curriculum and practices that are in line with program requirement and national/local curriculum.
  • Responsible to review teaching/training materials and manage the development of new material
  • Provide necessary orientation to program team and teachers for introducing new material/resources.
  • Carry out periodic evaluations and stakeholder analysis to determine the utility, relevance and impact of disseminated learning material across districts. Consequently, identify the gaps and needs for learning material or training to optimize the use for effective learning
  • Work closely with Communications team to undertake instructional design of all learning resources (manuals, resource kits, story books, etc.) for greater ease and appeal for teachers and children
  • Develop linkages and partnership with subject specialists and identify content providers.
  • Identify and review externally produced content and resources on literacy and numeracy and share the possibilities of adaptation and contextualization with the program teams.

Skills

Masters Degree in Communications, B.Ed/ Social Sciences, advocacy or resource development
3 to 5 years relevant working experience
Creative flair and strong conceptual understanding of prime users
Ability to craft learning materials on topics related to numeracy and literacy which are authentic and relevant to daily lives
Strong listening, comprehension and analytical skills of print and multimedia content
Expertise in training and developing classroom materials, teaching manuals and student workbooks.
Sound knowledge of child centered pedagogical approaches
Strong interpersonal skills
Good Verbal and written English (for academic purposes) and working knowledge of Sindhi and Urdu
Familiarity and comfort level with publishing and illustrative software along with fair competence of using MS Office applications
