Job Purpose: The job holder is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Legal department, provision of legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.
Key Responsibilities:
1 Review contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
2 Legal vetting of agreements, contracts and other documents from business
3 Review progress of outstanding litigation and manage external lawyers
4 Facilitate access of legal counsel to functional heads for organizing defence of the Company in litigation cases
5 Follow up, monitor, and update status of SECP, CCP, Court Cases (before Supreme Court, High Court and Labour Courts) on annual and periodic basis
6 Prepare Minutes of the Board and Committee meetings
7 Extend advisory support to the Managing Director and Functional Heads
8 Attend meetings of Negotiation Committee as nominee of the Company
9 Interact with Statutory and Internal Auditors
10 Issue notices, agendas and working papers for meetings of the Shareholders
11 Manage share transfers documentation and process
