As Program Manager, this position will play a crucial role in providing management, oversight and direct supervision to all federal and provincial consultants assigned to the Pakistan polio program along with their respective program associates and other consultants for Polio Program, ensuring efficient coordination and implementation of the program under the programmatic guidance of the donor. This position will directly report to Director Programs and Finance at RIZ Consulting.

The responsibilities will mainly include overseeing day-to-day activities of the consultants, conducting field visits, and facilitating regular technical meetings with federal and provincial teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision and Management:
    • Act as the direct supervisor for all federal and provincial consultants, provide guidance and keep an oversight on their day-to-day technical tasks.
    • Ensure adherence to the technical direction provided by RIZ Consulting and the donor.
    • Review all the reports being submitted by staff on monthly basis, identify areas of improvement and communicate back to them for corrective measures.
    • Ensure that all staff members are preparing and submitting their monthly work plans within the allotted time.
    • Review and approve travel requests by consultants; travel requests outside of Islamabad/ province of assignment requires consultation with the donor. International travel funded through the RIZ grant requires donor approval.
    • What will be the role of the manager in terms of annual performance reviews?
  2. Coordination and Communication:
    • Facilitate regular meetings with RIZ national and provincial polio consultants, and other technical staff as required, to jointly review their performance and address any issues they may face.
    • Prepare and submit comprehensive meeting minutes for the record of each TFPs meeting to RIZ Consulting and the donor staff.
    • Provide timely updates on staffing and programmatic issues to the donor and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Quarterly check-in call between Program Manager and donor/ provincial focal points for information sharing and consultation.
  3. Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit a monthly progress report to donor, within the first week of each month mentioning key activities performed during the month.
    • Based on the reporting received from provincial teams develop a detailed workplan for the following month, highlighting planned activities and achievements.
    • Clearly document activities not achieved, providing corresponding remarks and proposed solutions.
  4. Field Visits:
    • Undertake field visits to the provinces, ensuring all consultants are met in the field at least once per quarter, and as and when asked by RIZ Consulting.
  5. Performance Evaluation

The Manager will be responsible for coordinating an annual 360 degree performance assessment of all the RIZ consultants, gathering input from PEOC Coordinators, GPEI partners and internally within RIZ Consulting.
