Purpose: The role serves as a pivotal link between project teams in Afghanistan and key stakeholders (including donors, RIZ Consulting and government) for a large-scale results-based financing initiative to support the people of Afghanistan in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Health. The incumbent shall oversee the development, management and implementation of project plans, tools, and frameworks, ensuring alignment with and achievement of project objectives. Additionally, the position entails active stakeholder engagement, meeting coordination and follow-up, and strategic information extraction for management consumption to support decision making, and realization of project goals.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
- Develop and update project workplans, necessary project and management tools, reporting templates and MEAL frameworks to meet evolving project needs.
- Coordinate closely with Afghanistan project teams to facilitate effective communication with donor, grant administrators, sub-grantees and stakeholders.
- Establish and supervise robust M&E systems in collaboration with field experts to track progress towards project goals.
- Ensure accountability through effective internal and external communication and information sharing.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement at all project stages, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Review project reports and provide guidance to ensure adherence to project standards and client requirements.
- Support project management and implementation according to international standards and client specifications.
- Promote feedback mechanisms and agile project activities for responsive implementation.
- Foster organizational learning by developing tools, guidelines, and implementing best practices.
- Coordinate and moderate (where required) key meetings/ forums as well as ensure accurate documentation in terms of minutes and follow up of actionable items.
- Maintain close coordination with counterparts at Grant Administrator to ensure seamless integration of work plans to ensure achievement of KPIs, milestones and targets and timelines as determined by the Donor.
2. Strategic Partnerships:
- Form and nurture strategic partnerships and leverage them for achievement of project objectives.
- Represent the organization to external stakeholders, including governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and the private sector.
- Maintain cordial and functional relationships, and actively build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
