Manager Security shall act as the organization's Chief of Security who is responsible for security of personnel, students and physical assets. Manager Security shall serve as the business leader responsible for the development, implementation and management of the organization’s corporate security vision, strategy and programs by identifying organizational protection goals and objectives, ensuring they're consistent with the organization’s strategic plans. Manager security shall direct relevant staff in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes across the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of physical, and personal risk; establish appropriate standards and risk controls associated with property; and direct the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures related to security

  1. Devise an institution wise strategy to ensure safety and security of our Students, staff and assets.
  2. Manage the development and implementation of institution wide security standards, guidelines and procedures.
  3. Identify security hazards, vulnerabilities and potential threats.
  4. Direct and supervise security interventions across the organization.
  5. Oversee and direct the development of procedures to ensure physical safety of students, employees and visitors.
  6. Ensure security is maintained and updated.
  7. Create security awareness, prevention and crisis management and response programs/plans.
  8. Prioritize security initiatives.
  9. Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies.
  10. Investigate security breaches.
  11. Conduct audits to find holes in security platform.

Skills

Prior position leading a global, corporate, NGO security function

Ability to work in a complex, matrixed environment

Must be an articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior management team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.

Should have experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation

Must have strong working knowledge of pertinent law and proven ability to

establish linkages with the law enforcement community

Effective written and verbal communication skills
