Job Overview:The creative writer would be responsible in writing content relevant to the online marketing strategy that is being directed by the SMO Lead and SEO Lead. The creative content writer would report directly to the SMO Lead and would write reviews, articles, press releases, news and blogs for the official social profiles as well as writing content for the paid marketing campaigns and SEO purposes.
The creative content writer would also be responsible to come up with innovative and intriguing writing topics using key words as much as possible in line with the SEO strategy for traffic generation. The position holder would research the topic thoroughly and utilize input from the cross functional teams to come up with content that is innovative and gives new insight and perspective to the topic that is currently trending in the online community with respect to the products and services offered by the company which are search engine friendly.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Write, edit and proofread SEO and SMO related content
- Provide product content including headline copy, catch phrase, and descriptive text all while building product content records
- Assemble all components of product content and fine-tune copy for cohesion with product images and videos
- Improve content production process – balancing user experience and search engine optimization
- Minimum A levels or Intermediate qualification with creative writing or I.T. as core subject, Bachelor degree in Writing, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field would be preferred.
- 1+ years of previous creative writing and SEO content writing experience in a professional setting related to e-commerce, marketing and blogs preferred.
- 1 published piece of writing or blog to your name preferred.
- Flexible working ability within tight deadlines, technical limitations, and/or established constraints.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Excellent SEO writing and editorial skills
- A passion for innovative SMO writing along with search marketing and SEO writing.
- A keen understanding of the evolution of SEO and Google’s search algorithm
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills required
- Excellent proofreading and grammatical skills required
- Superior command of the English language, demonstrated writing and editing skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge and understanding of e-commerce industry and social media marketing
- Positive attitude toward constructive criticism and collaborative creative work
- Ability to question the given and think outside the box
- Ability to multitask, work well under pressure and turn in work on deadlines
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Dropbox
- Detail oriented, motivated, passionate, organized, hard-worker and self-starter
- Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in cross-functional team
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- A positive, team-player attitude along with quick learning skills
