Job Overview: The PPC Lead would report directly to the SMO Lead and will be responsible to highlight, create, implement, monitor and run beneficial and valuable paid online marketing campaigns with respect to new and existing products.

The PPC lead should have extensive knowledge and experience of running successful paid online campaigns throughout the online community for an e-commerce based website. The position holder would monitor the impact of all paid campaigns and constantly improve for better responses and results that lead to conversions. The job holder would support the implementation of appropriate marketing strategy to deliver the budgeted volume and revenue targets. The PPC Lead would also generate performance reports for the SMO Lead of the campaigns that are run to gauge the success of the paid marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Build a strong, consistent and return on investment driven strategy for paid online marketing campaigns which include affiliate marketing and other online paid marketing opportunities.
  • Be responsible for the online paid marketing campaigns – develop online exclusive promotions and find new, innovative publishers with creative ways of promoting the brand.
  • Work with internal teams to build and test creative, landing pages and promotions.
  • Work with the marketing team to influence overall marketing plan in each channel as appropriate.
  • Help develop, manage, and track marketing budgets, timelines, and processes for paid channel from starting to execution.
  • Establish and maintain processes to ensure effective and timely development and execution of programs and paid campaigns within defined budget constraints.
  • Represent and work in cross-functional teams as the company’s paid online media to deliver integrated marketing plan for promotions, and brand initiatives.
  • Communicate project status on a regular basis to senior leadership, cross-functional team, and agencies.
  • Manages day-to-day relationships with internal and external creative teams, agencies and vendors to develop integrated customer communication materials.
  • Provides input to consumer positioning, creative brief development, and supports all-agency creative briefing.
  • Evaluates creative concepts and final execution against the strategy. Effectively provides creative feedback to internal and external agencies.
  • Utilizes consumer insights and applies research learning to identify the target consumer and insights to inform the marketing plan and creative brief. Provides input to research plans and test design for a promotion or category.
  • Leads effort to track marketing performance, gather consumer insights, and analyze or evaluate program effectiveness. Shares findings with leadership and cross-functional team and integrates findings into future online marketing activities and initiatives.
  • Merge consumer insights, trends, competitive assessments, operational impact, performance of past marketing programs, and category data to develop sound recommendations for projects. Brings data and insights together to tell a logical story.

Qualification & Summary of Experience:

  • Online advertising or campaign management experience 3+ years
  • Agency management: Direct or indirect management of internal and/or external agencies
  • Ecommerce background preferred, especially in retail
  • Deep knowledge of SEM and affiliate program management, PPC and online paid social marketing.
  • Experience with web analytics, both building tracking structures and reporting (Coremetrics, Google Analytics and other analytical tools)
  • BBA in Marketing or related field required, MBA preferred
  • Able to demonstrate experience of implementing digital marketing campaigns and undertaking campaign analysis.
  • Experience using a specific online marketing discipline (email marketing, paid search, affiliate marketing, social media)
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to develop relationships with colleagues and clients quickly
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills, and an attention to detail.
  • Competent in Excel and other Office products.
  • A good knowledge of online marketing channels, and desire to learn more as the industry evolves.
  • Have the personal drive, inquisitive nature, and initiative to bring about change and help improve the performance of the ecommerce website

Ability to write focused, strategic briefs, and evaluate creative and marketing programs against strategy. Strong analytical and measurement/tracking skills. Conduct analysis and present data and findings clearly, concisely and accurately. Be able to draw meaningful conclusions and indicated actions, and set performance benchmarks.
  • Ability to manage time and budget effectively, including balancing multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Ability to identify or implement systems and process improvements.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Prove ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and agencies, both in person and remotely.
  • Change management: Ability to work in a changing environment.
