1. Taking active part in pre-drive counselling sessions, donor motivation and presentations.

2. Managing and organizing camps by participating in the planning and layout of blood drives.

3. Dealing with donor reactions after blood donation.

4. Interacting and motivating potential blood donors for blood donation on the day of drive.

5. Be able to:

a. Take Donor History.

b. Perform Physical Examination of Blood Donor including:

i. Pulse.

ii. Blood Pressure

iii. Hemoglobin by portable Haemoglobinometer. eg Diaspect..

iv. Temperature.

v. Weight.

vi. Draw Blood Donor.

6. Perform Basic Life Support.

7. Coordinating with the donor center and distribution department for timely shipment of blood units from blood drive to the blood center.

8. Perform post draw TTI testing counselling session for reactive reports.

9. Implements corrective actions at the blood drives, decided by the Regional Blood Center Management.

10. Ensures that all the blood drive and donor center equipment’s are properly maintained and calibrated.

11. Taking active part in training and development of Blood Center/Donor Center team.

12. Educates physicians, residents, technologists, paramedical staff and patients on appropriate use of blood products, blood group compatibility, blood transfusion processes and other related information.

13. Acts as a resource to hospital nurses and clinicians to solve issues related to blood transfusion process and transfusion reactions and timely reports them to the Manager Regional Blood Center.

14. Deliver training sessions to doctors and nurses regarding haemovigilance issues.

15. Works collaboratively with the blood center and donor center staff to ensure updating of policy and procedure manuals.

16. Participates in the investigation of incidences and reports to QA department and Manager Regional Blood Center.

17. Participate as an “Accreditation Team Member” and ensure continued accreditation of the laboratory.

18. Promote professional team environment during Blood Drives and in donor collection area at the Regional Blood Center or Hospital Blood Bank.
