The IT technical systems engineer is mainly responsible for the smooth running of Vector Technologies clients' IT infrastructure and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them.
Individual tasks vary depending on the size and structure of the clients organization, but may include:
· Installation and configuration of computer and server hardware operating systems and applications
· Monitoring and maintaining IT infrastructure.
· Guiding clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
· Troubleshooting system and network problems including hardware and software faults.
· Installing, configuring and maintaining MS windows infrastructure including MS Windows servers, Exchange and Sharepoint
· Installation and confirguration of networking peripherals such as Servers, Firewalls, WIFI AP's, Storage devices.
· Installation and configuration of Virtual environment for clients.
· Disaster recovery and back up solution for clients
. Working experience of Linux Server (Debian, Centos, Red Hat) and Windows Server (2003,2008,2012) installation, administration, and troubleshooting
· Good Understanding & Hands on configuration experience of AD, DHCP, DNS, IIS, FTP, Apache and Samba Servers.
· Good Understanding & Hands on experience with Virtualization Technologies like VMware, Citrix and Hyper-V.
· Experience with Mail Servers like MS Exchange.
· Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability.
· Should be able to create network/LLD/HLD diagrams.
· Experience in design and implementation of disaster and recovery plans. Knowledge of Acronis VEEM and Windows Back up as well as NAS set ups for small businesses and homes.
· TCP/IP knowledge, confident with networking, switches, routers and firewalls
· Experience with MySQL/MS-SQL database, reports, backups and replication of databases
· Experience in scripting (Windows & Linux Environment)
· Experience of SharePoint will be a plus.
· Ability to work in team environment with excellent communication skills
· Must have analytical and problem-solving skills
· Must have good written and verbal communication skills
