Project Description:
The USAID Training for Pakistan project provides turn-key participant training and capacitydevelopment services that are uniquely specialized for USAID/Pakistan Mission teams and publicand private implementing partners. The primary purpose of this program is to provide participanttraining and capacity development services to USAID/Pakistan’s contractors, grantees, andpartners under Government to Government assistance programs, and at times to the Missiondirectly. This Mission-wide program will support all USAID sector teams interested in exchangesor training of host-country Pakistani nationals.
Position Summary:
The Program Officer shall be responsible for providing full assistance to the Assistant TrainingManager on overall training portfolio, including planning, designing, organizing, preparing andimplementation of all training interventions, including pre-departure orientations and briefings forall USAID/Pakistan participants. S/he must have thorough understanding of U.S. universitysystems as well as university systems in other countries. This position also works with experienced individuals and a variety of institutions across Pakistan,including faculty members at universities and colleges, senior trainers with governmental bodiesof education and NGO partners. Therefore the appointee requires excellent coordination and planning skills along with a detailorientedfocus and ability to coordinate with the training participants effectively.

This position is based at the Training for Pakistan Project office Islamabad. The Program Officerreports to the Assistant Training Manager.
