- Prepare print jobs using slicing software, adjusting settings such as orientation and supports for optimal results.
- Identify common printing defects and conduct trials to enhance print quality.
- Measure printed components accurately using calipers and verify their fit with other parts.
- Maintain detailed records of design files, print settings, materials used, time spent, costs, and results.
- Photograph samples and document any technical issues with precise measurements.
- Coordinate fabrication tasks with the metal workshop and manage finishing trials with external suppliers.
- Keep tools, materials, and workspace organized while adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize AI-assisted instructions and design tools to support prototyping and research & development activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Genuine interest in making, repairing, assembling, or testing physical objects.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in measurements and following technical instructions.
- Excellent organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to document and coordinate tasks effectively.
- Willingness and ability to travel between the office, workshop, and suppliers as needed.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience with 3D printing, CAD, electronics, model-making, or workshop fabrication is highly desirable.
- Basic skills in CAD editing.
- A technical diploma or relevant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Machine-specific training will be provided, with practical ability valued above formal qualifications.
Success Criteria:
- Consistently produce accurate and reliable 3D-printed samples.
- Effectively identify and report printing defects and component-fitting issues.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of experiments, materials, and outcomes.
- Coordinate smoothly across printing, fabrication, and finishing processes to meet project goals.
Candidates are encouraged to submit their CV along with photographs or examples of any items they have made, printed, repaired, or assembled. Please include a brief explanation of your contribution and the tools used. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in a paid practical assessment.
