We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the daily accounting activities of our growing technology company. This role requires maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring quality bookkeeping, managing payroll, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing timely financial reports to assist management in making informed decisions. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with accounting software and possess strong analytical skills to help maintain the company’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping:
Accurately record all financial transactions using QuickBooks, ensuring proper classification according to the company’s Chart of Accounts. Maintain detailed general ledger records and perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations. Record prepaid expenses, accruals, depreciation, and other adjusting journal entries. Review accounting entries for accuracy and completeness before month-end close and maintain supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
Financial Close:
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare management financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in accounting records. Prepare month-end working papers and supporting schedules, and assist with year-end audit preparations.
Payroll Administration:
Process monthly payroll accurately and on time, verifying attendance, leave, overtime, and payroll adjustments. Calculate bonuses, incentives, and reimbursements while ensuring statutory deductions are correctly applied. Coordinate payroll payments with HR and management, maintaining complete and confidential payroll documentation.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process vendor invoices promptly and accurately. Monitor customer receivables and follow up on overdue payments. Maintain reconciliations for both vendor and customer accounts to ensure accuracy.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Continuously improve accounting processes and internal controls. Assist with tax filings and statutory reporting requirements. Support both internal and external audit activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is essential, along with approximately five years of relevant accounting experience. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required, coupled with strong skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Candidates should have solid experience in bank reconciliations, month-end closing, and a thorough understanding of accounting controls and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Professional accounting certifications such as ACCA, CA (Part Qualified), CMA, or equivalent are highly preferred. Experience working within a technology company or professional services environment is advantageous. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Garden Town, Lahore, requiring candidates to commute daily and work five days a week.
Applicants will be evaluated on their current residence and commuting ability, hands-on experience with transaction entry and journal postings, years of QuickBooks Online usage, payroll processing experience including the number of employees managed, highest accounting qualification and status, and the nature of their most recent accounting role. Experience as an in-house accountant for an IT company is particularly relevant and should be highlighted.
