Backend Developer

We are looking for a talented Backend Developer to join our team in Abbottabad. The successful candidate will have strong backend development skills, including API creation, database management, security implementation, and designing scalable, production-ready systems. This role focuses on developing reliable backend services, authentication mechanisms, and server-side applications that support our web and AI products. Please note this is a full-time, onsite position based in Abbottabad. Candidates must currently reside in Abbottabad or be willing to relocate permanently, as remote work is not an option.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications that meet business requirements. Build secure, high-performance REST and GraphQL APIs to support frontend and AI integrations. Manage both relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and optimized queries. Develop authentication, authorization, user management, and permission systems to safeguard applications. Integrate third-party APIs and external services seamlessly. Where needed, implement real-time communication using WebSockets. Continuously optimize backend performance, including database queries and API response times. Implement robust error handling, logging, monitoring, and security best practices. Collaborate closely with frontend developers, AI engineers, UI/UX designers, and DevOps teams to deliver cohesive solutions. Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code. Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing reliable fixes promptly.

Required Qualifications
Strong proficiency in one or more modern backend programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, PHP, or Go. Experience with backend frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, Django, Node.js, Express.js, NestJS, Spring Boot, or Laravel. Solid understanding of RESTful API design and GraphQL. Hands-on experience with databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or similar technologies. Knowledge of database design principles, indexing, transactions, normalization, and query optimization. Experience implementing authentication and authorization methods such as JWT, OAuth, sessions, and role-based access control. Familiarity with WebSockets and real-time communication technologies. Proficiency with version control systems like Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket. Comfortable working in Linux server environments and deploying containerized applications using Docker. Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is advantageous. Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus. Awareness of microservices architecture, message queues, caching, and scalable system design is beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Strong grasp of system design and backend architecture principles. Experience with technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Celery, or their equivalents. Familiarity with payment gateway integrations is a plus. Proven track record of building high-traffic APIs and production-grade backend systems. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and secure API development. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. We offer a competitive salary ranging from Rs60,000 to Rs90,000 per month, commensurate with experience and skills.
