We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join the Department of Internal Medicine at SKMCH&RC as a full-time consultant specializing in endocrinology and hospital medicine. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the endocrinology service while also providing specialist internal medicine care in both outpatient clinics and inpatient settings. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a CPSP-recognized postgraduate training program in endocrinology. The consultant will balance their time between hospital medicine duties—covering inpatient floors and the emergency assessment room—and specialty endocrinology sessions, with an equal split of 50% of daytime and evening sessions allocated to each area. Collaboration with colleagues within the Department of Internal Medicine and other relevant specialties is essential to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and develop the endocrinology service at SKMCH&RC through clinical expertise and leadership.
- Provide specialist internal medicine consultations in outpatient clinics and manage inpatient care effectively.
- Deliver general internal medicine and hospital medicine services, including coverage of the emergency assessment room.
- Allocate approximately 50% of clinical sessions to hospital medicine and 50% to specialty endocrinology interests.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings in alignment with institutional policies to ensure integrated patient care.
- Make independent, skilled clinical decisions across all aspects of endocrinology and internal medicine.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the Department of Internal Medicine and related specialties to optimize patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications
- MRCP (UK) with a minimum of three years’ experience working in the UK healthcare system.
- American Board certification in Internal Medicine with sub-specialty training and certification in endocrinology, including CCST (UK) or an equivalent qualification.
- Full and unencumbered registration as a medical practitioner with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care within endocrinology and internal medicine, supported by relevant training and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to relate empathetically and professionally to patients and their families.
- Proven capability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
While not explicitly stated, candidates with experience in a multidisciplinary clinical environment and those who have contributed to postgraduate medical education will find this role particularly rewarding. SKMCH&RC is committed to fostering professional development and offers a supportive environment for consultants to advance their clinical and academic careers. The institution’s recognition by CPSP for endocrinology training underscores its dedication to excellence in medical education and patient care.

This role is ideal for a consultant who is passionate about endocrinology and hospital medicine, eager to contribute to a dynamic team, and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a leading healthcare institution.
