Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (SKMCH&RC), Lahore, is seeking a full-time Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases to join the Department of Pediatric Oncology. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing infectious complications in pediatric cancer patients, providing expert medical care, and advising colleagues on optimal treatment strategies. This position involves direct responsibility for the care of children with cancer who develop infectious illnesses, as well as contributing to the general medical management of admitted cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities
The consultant will be expected to deliver high-quality clinical care across all aspects of pediatric infectious diseases within the oncology setting. This includes supervising and managing infectious complications in pediatric cancer patients and making independent, skilled clinical decisions. The role also involves active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care in line with institutional policies. Additionally, the appointee will engage in research activities, contributing to peer-reviewed publications, and take part in the education and training of residents, fellows, and ancillary staff. Developing and delivering educational programs for both internal and external audiences is also a key component of this role.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold FCPS, MRCPCH, or an American Board certification in Pediatrics. A minimum of three years of pediatric experience post-certification is required. Additionally, applicants should have at least two years of subspecialty training or equivalent experience in pediatric infectious diseases. Full registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) is mandatory. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in computer skills is also required to support clinical documentation and research activities.
