Responsibilities:
Back-End Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, secure web applications using Laravel 8+ and the latest PHP libraries and frameworks.
- Implement elegant, efficient, and reusable code adhering to strict coding standards and best practices.
- Work closely with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration and a user-centric approach.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to continuously improve code quality and maintainability.
Security Expertise:
- Conduct regular security audits of our web applications, databases, and servers.
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities before they can be exploited by attackers.
- Implement robust security measures, including access control, encryption, and intrusion detection systems.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and trends and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the IT team to maintain a secure infrastructure and disaster recovery plan.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Write clean, well-documented code and maintain thorough documentation for all projects.
- Perform unit and integration testing to ensure code quality and functionality.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Adapt to changing technologies and stay updated on the latest advancements in the PHP and Laravel ecosystem.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining web applications with PHP/Laravel.
- Proven track record of building secure and scalable web applications.
- In-depth knowledge of Laravel security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data security.
- Expertise in SQL and database security (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Strong understanding of server-side security concepts (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for learning and staying updated on the latest technologies.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Experience with secure coding practices and secure software development methodologies (OWASP, SANS).
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
