Crescent Bahuman Limited, a leading vertically integrated denim manufacturing organization, seeks an experienced and results-oriented professional to lead its Denim Fabric Planning function. The Head of Department Fabric Planning (Denim Textile) will oversee the entire fabric planning process, ensuring seamless operations from yarn availability to final delivery. This role demands a strategic leader capable of coordinating multiple departments to optimize production capacities while maintaining quality and timely delivery. The position involves managing a team of 10 professionals, guiding them to achieve high performance and continuous improvement in fabric planning, scheduling, and execution.
The ideal candidate holds a B.Sc. or B.E. in Textile Engineering, with 1012 years of relevant denim fabric manufacturing experience, including at least five years in a senior planning role. An MBA or qualifications in Supply Chain or Operations will be advantageous. The role requires strong skills in yarn planning, indigo and rope dyeing, weaving, denim finishing, and quality management. The candidate must excel in advanced Excel and have hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and production dashboards. Proficiency in data-driven planning, analytical thinking, decision-making, and excellent communication and coordination skills are essential to ensure efficient production flow and meet customer delivery commitments.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the end-to-end denim fabric planning process from yarn availability, through dyeing, weaving, finishing, inspection, to final delivery.
Develop and implement master production plans aligned with customer orders, production capacities, business priorities, and delivery deadlines.
Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Marketing, Merchandising, Procurement, Production, Quality, Warehousing, and Commercial teams to synchronize planning and execution.
Monitor actual production performance against plans, identifying and resolving capacity constraints, material shortages, and bottlenecks proactively.
Optimize production allocation between in-house and outsourced facilities to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Manage fabric lead times, work-in-progress, inventory levels, shortages, overproduction, and ageing stock to reduce waste and improve cash flow.
Ensure fabrics meet required specifications such as article type, construction, shade, width, finish, shrinkage, and stretch, maintaining quality standards throughout the process.
Track and analyze key performance indicators including On-Time In-Full delivery, planning accuracy, plan attainment, capacity utilization, lead times, and inventory levels to drive continuous improvement.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Fabric Planning team of 10 members, fostering strong team management and collaboration skills to promote high productivity and professional growth.
Utilize advanced Excel and ERP/MRP systems to build data-driven production dashboards and generate actionable insights for decision-making.
Drive analytical planning processes to support informed and timely decision-making on production schedules and resource allocation.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency across the supply chain activities.
