Position Title: Community Development Engagement Officer

Duty Station: Karachi

Reporting to: RPM

Human Development Foundation (HDF) was founded in 1997 by the Pakistani diaspora in North America as a gift to their homeland on its 50th anniversary, with a passion to pay back to the communities they belong to. Over past 25 year, HDF has positively impacted lives of 3.4 million fellow countrymen through direct service delivery in the areas of Education & literacy, Primary Healthcare, Livelihood & Food Security, Sustainable Environment and Disaster Response with its physical footprint in 88 Tehsils of 53 Districts from AJK till Tharparkar.

Position Description

The CEDO will play a key role in implementing community development programs and projects aimed at fostering positive social change. This position requires a passionate and dedicated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of the social and cultural dynamics within the communities served by the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Build strong relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
Conduct regular community assessments to identify needs, challenges, and opportunities for development.
Work closely with supervisor to implement community development initiatives.
Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns on various social issues.
Represent the organization in community meetings, forums, and events.
Collaborate with local government agencies, NGOs, and other partners to strengthen the impact of programs.
Empower community members through skill-building activities and training programs.
Provide guidance and support to community-based organizations and volunteers.
Track and report on the progress of community projects.
Collect data and feedback to assess the effectiveness of interventions and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, development studies, or a related field.
Proven experience in community organizing, development, or a related field.
Strong understanding of social and cultural dynamics in Pakistan, especially in the assigned community.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Familiarity with project management principles and monitoring and evaluation.
Proficiency in local languages is highly desirable
