Humayun Chemical Industries is seeking an experienced Production Manager specialized in active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing to lead and oversee critical production processes. This role requires a professional with deep expertise in penicillin and cephalosporin API manufacturing operations and a strong grasp of cGMP standards, beta-lactam contamination control, and HVAC segregation systems. The ideal candidate holds a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field, with a preference for a masters degree, and brings at least ten years of hands-on experience in API production. The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient and compliant batch processing, managing production schedules, and maintaining high standards for quality and safety across all manufacturing stages.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage all production operations associated with API manufacturing, ensuring compliance with cGMP and other regulatory standards.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities to optimize resource utilization and meet production deadlines while maintaining quality.
Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
Control and monitor production processes including batch processing, documentation, and validation activities such as cleaning validation.
Manage contamination control protocols specific to beta-lactam antibiotics to maintain product safety and integrity.
Supervise and ensure proper functioning and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including reactors, centrifuges, dryers, filtration systems, solvent recovery units, and clean utility systems.
Oversee the implementation and compliance of health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Collaborate with quality control teams to enforce rigorous quality assurance measures and conduct root cause analysis for production issues.
Administer inventory management and material requirements planning to guarantee timely availability of raw materials and minimize production delays.
Provide strong leadership, guidance, and motivation to a team of ten production personnel to foster a productive and cooperative work atmosphere.
Troubleshoot and resolve production bottlenecks and technical challenges promptly to maintain continuous manufacturing flow.
Maintain thorough and accurate production documentation in compliance with regulatory and company policies.
Promote continuous improvement initiatives across all production processes to increase efficiency and product quality.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to align production goals with overall business objectives.
