Islamic Relief Pakistan is seeking a dedicated Community Mobilizer to support its ongoing social development and humanitarian projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in community mobilization, with at least two years of experience in similar roles within an NGO environment. This role involves engaging with local communities, understanding their needs, and working collaboratively to implement sustainable development initiatives. The Community Mobilizer will play a vital role in fostering community participation and strengthening relationships between the organization and its beneficiaries. The Community Mobilizer will not manage a team but will be expected to work closely with various project stakeholders and partners. The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, along with proficiency in MS Office to document and report on project progress. Candidates must meet academic qualifications and experience requirements, such as holding a Master’s degree with at least one year of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree with two years of experience. Responsibilities

Technical Level :

  • Mobilize communities to participate in project interventions, including WASH, health, education, and recreational programs.
  • Facilitate community meetings, focus group discussions, and participatory planning sessions.
  • Support social cohesion initiatives, resolving minor conflicts and promoting peaceful coexistence.

Collect and report community feedback to inform project adjustments.

  • Identify and engage vulnerable and marginalized groups to ensure equitable participation.
  • Assist in documentation of community activities, success stories, and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate with Social Cohesion Officer and Project Coordinator to align field activities with project objectives

Perform any task assigned by project lead as and when required.

Operational Level:

  • Development of work plans for timely implementation

  • Surveys, Data Collection & report generation

  • Record management – field visits, CO meetings, beneficiary data etc.

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, ERP systems

KEYACCOUNTABILITIES

The following are the main responsibilities that the role holder will be accountable for: 

  • Mobilize target communities for active participation in project interventions.
  • Facilitate community-led planning and decision-making processes.
  • Promote social cohesion and conflict resolution at community level.
  • Support project staff in implementation, monitoring, and reporting of field activities.
  • Maintain community records, attendance sheets, and documentation of events.
  • Provide feedback from communities to improve project design and implementation.
  • Ensure inclusion of women, children, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups in all activities.
  • Support awareness-raising campaigns and advocacy efforts.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by Project Coordinator or Social Cohesion Officer.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the organizational values & principles, vision and mission as well as commitment to its SEAH (sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. We have zero tolerance policy towards SEAH and doesn’t support any action that promote or encourage SEAH.

Qualification:

 

  • Bachelor / Master Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field preferred.

Experience:

 

  • Minimum experience of similar role in NGO setup: 2–3 years of experience in community mobilization, social development, or humanitarian projects.

  • 1 years’ Experience with Master degree 16 Years of Education  and 2 years’ Experience  with Bachelor degree 14 years of education.

  • Computer Skills:

  • MS Office, Outlook, ERP systems familiarity

  • English, Urdu and Local Languages

  • Key Personal Qualities:
  • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience, and able to maintain self-control in difficult situations.
