Job Summary
The Building Inspector is responsible for inspecting construction sites and buildings to ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, building codes, safety standards, and local authority regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular inspections of construction sites (residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects).
Ensure construction work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
Verify compliance with building codes, bylaws, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Inspect structural works, finishing works, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) activities.
Identify construction defects, safety violations, and non-compliance issues, and report them to management.
Prepare and submit detailed inspection and compliance reports.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site engineers to resolve inspection observations.
Recommend corrective actions and follow up on implementation.
Support final inspections, project completion, and handover processes.
Coordinate with government authorities or third-party inspectors when required.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction or real estate projects.
Strong knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and safety regulations.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
Strong inspection and analytical skills
Excellent reporting and documentation abilities
Good communication and coordination skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving capability
Proficiency in MS Office and basic reporting tools
