Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial record-keeping. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, processing transactions, managing tax compliance, and supporting financial reporting and audits. This role requires strong knowledge of local tax laws, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in accounting systems such as QuickBooks or ERP platforms.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring proper coding and timely posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring prompt payments and collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies between bank statements and internal records.
- Forecast cash flows and monitor bank positions, coordinating with banking institutions to address transactional issues or fees.
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Manage withholding and depositing of income tax on salaries, vendor payments, and other services according to statutory requirements.
- Generate and maintain accurate records for Withholding Tax Certificates (WHT) and ensure proper documentation of all tax-related payments.
- File quarterly income tax withholding statements and reconcile tax ledgers with actual deductions and deposits.
- Assist in preparing tax provision reports for quarterly management reviews and support the annual income tax return submission.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during annual tax audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Prepare annual tax statements for employees, vendors, and contractors, ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities by generating internal financial reports and assisting with external audits.
- Prepare management reports including expense analysis, cost center reports, and profitability reviews to aid decision-making.
- Maintain organized financial records for audit trails and retrieval purposes.
- Liaise with vendors, tax consultants, and banks as required to facilitate smooth financial operations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, handle petty cash transactions, and perform other finance-related duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of local taxation laws, financial regulations, and banking procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms, along with advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen to interpret and manage complex financial data.
