Cashier

KGC International is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Cashier with at least two years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of cash handling procedures. This role demands careful attention to transaction processing, currency verification, and customer interactions in a fast-paced retail environment. While prior experience with cash counter handling is preferred, the candidate must have completed at least 12 years of education and demonstrate proficiency in operating various payment systems and currency validation equipment. This position does not involve team management but requires the ability to work effectively and independently while contributing to the overall customer service excellence. The Cashier serves as the primary point of contact for customers during sales transactions, ensuring each interaction is smooth, accurate, and friendly. Responsibilities include managing point of sale systems, verifying currency authenticity, accurately handling cash and electronic payments, and resolving customer inquiries. The role also involves maintaining operational standards through the precise use of equipment such as UV light scanners and currency counting machines. By consistently adhering to established procedures, the Cashier plays a critical role in fostering customer satisfaction and maintaining the financial integrity of the store operations.
Responsibilities

Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly.
Handle cash, electronic payments, and other payment methods following established cash handling procedures.
Verify currency authenticity using UV light scanners, currency counting machines, and other validation techniques.
Count, sort, and validate cash to maintain accuracy throughout shifts and during cash register reconciliation.
Provide high-quality customer service by engaging customers, addressing inquiries, and resolving transaction-related issues.
Maintain accurate records of daily transactions and prepare cash drawers for shift changes and store closing.
Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage customer interactions and enhance service delivery.
Follow security protocols to prevent theft, fraud, and loss during cash transactions.
Perform basic math calculations to verify transaction totals and issue correct change promptly.
Contribute to maintaining cleanliness and organization of the checkout area to facilitate a pleasant shopping experience.
Communicate clearly and courteously with team members and management to report discrepancies and operational issues.
Stay updated on new payment technologies and cash handling equipment to improve operational efficiency.
