Learning and Development Officer (Islamic Studies)

READ Foundation is seeking motivated professionals with expertise in training and educational material development to join its team. The ideal candidates will have a strong conceptual understanding of K-12 education subjects and will play a vital role in designing instructional resources and delivering training programs. These efforts aim to support the continuous professional development of in-service teachers, cluster-level professional development teams, and regional teams across multiple locations. The position is based at READ Foundation’s Head Office in Islamabad, Pakistan, and requires significant field travel.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop a variety of educational resource materials, including daily lesson plans, assessments, tests, question banks, training manuals, CPD modules, audio-visual content, concept notes, frameworks, and technical reports.
- Review curriculum, syllabi, textbooks, and teaching-learning materials relevant to the assigned subjects.
- Coordinate with regional Monitoring and Resource Centers (MRCs) for textbook review activities.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate face-to-face training sessions, cluster workshops, and provide on-the-job support to teachers across nine regions served by READ Foundation.
- Conduct follow-up visits and meetings with key stakeholders in over 600 READ Foundation schools to ensure effective implementation of training programs.
- Plan, conduct, and analyze training needs assessments, focus group discussions, and interviews with participants from various training initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external partners involved in core program activities.
- Coordinate with major stakeholders such as publishers, schools, and regional teams to align efforts and resources.
- Collaborate with staff and management to gather research data, analyze findings, and prepare reports and briefings.
- Document and share success stories, case studies, and best practices to highlight program impact.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Note: The role requires 60–70% travel to field locations.

Required Qualifications
- A Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline from an HEC-recognized university.
- At least three years of professional experience in training and material development within the relevant subject area.
- Proven expertise in developing and reviewing training manuals, modules, and teaching-learning materials.
- Advanced knowledge of the subject matter, including a deep understanding of Student Learning Outcomes (SLO)-based teaching and assessment methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, training, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Urdu.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse teams and demonstrate leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work under pressure.
