- Ensure accurate preparation of import documents such as LC (Letter of Credit), Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Airway Bill, and Certificate of Origin.
- Ensure compliance with Pakistan Customs, FBR, SBP, and TDAP regulations.
- Coordinate with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) rules on foreign payments.
- Monitor HS codes, import duties, sales tax, and exemptions (DTRE, EFS, temporary imports).
- Track shipments and coordinate with freight forwarders and clearing agents.
- Ensure timely customs clearance at ports (Karachi, Port Qasim, Dry Ports).
- Minimize demurrage, detention, and port charges.
- Liaise with customs officials and clearing agents.
- Verify correct duty drawback, exemptions, and refunds.
- Handle post-clearance audits and customs queries.
- Handle claims for shortages, damages, or quality issues.
- Maintain complete import records for audits and tax purposes.
- Stay updated on changes in import policies, tariffs, and SROs.
- Handle the rebate claims of shipments.
- Coordinate with insurance companies and handle insurance claims in case of damage inside factory premises.
Skills Typically Expected
- Strong knowledge of Pakistan import laws and textile HS codes.
- Experience with EFS and DTRE schemes.
- Experience with PSW.
- Negotiation and supplier communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight production deadlines.
- Experience with rebate claims of shipments.
- Ability to perform admin duties.
