Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Lahore is seeking a Locum Consultant for the Internal Medicine and Pulmonology Department. This role is intended to support and advance the Specialist Internal Medicine services within the hospital. The successful candidate will be actively involved in delivering comprehensive Internal Medicine care, with a focus on developing a specialized interest aligned with their training and the institution’s requirements. The consultant will provide expert medical coverage for oncology patients who present with concurrent medical conditions, managing cases both in inpatient units and in the Emergency and Assessment Room. The position demands a strong foundation in General Internal Medicine, with the ability to make independent, well-informed clinical decisions efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level care for oncology patients experiencing intercurrent medical issues across inpatient and emergency settings.
- Participate in the ongoing development and enhancement of Specialist Internal Medicine services at the hospital.
- Manage patient care in both inpatient units and the Emergency and Assessment Room, ensuring timely and accurate clinical decisions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
- Maintain high standards of clinical practice and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Support teaching and training activities within the department, sharing expertise with junior medical staff and trainees.

Required Qualifications
- Medical Practitioner with full and unencumbered registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- Possession of appropriate postgraduate qualifications such as FCPS in Medicine and FCPS in Pulmonology, or an equivalent credential recognized by SKMCH&RC’s medical staff regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary teaching environments.
- Extensive clinical experience across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Proven ability to make independent clinical decisions with confidence and competence.
- High level of professional and personal integrity to uphold and enhance the reputation of SKMCH&RC.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
