Manager - Operational Risk

LOLC Microfinance Bank is seeking an experienced Manager - Operational Risk to lead and enhance the operational risk management framework within the organization. This role demands a dedicated professional with a minimum of four years of experience who will oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks that could impact the banks operations and reputation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of two, driving risk assessment processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining robust incident management practices. The role involves proactive management of operational risk indicators and business continuity strategies to safeguard assets and ensure uninterrupted banking services. This manager will play a key role in performing risk and control self-assessments (RCSA) and monitoring key risk indicators (KRIs) to identify potential vulnerabilities. They will ensure business continuity planning (BCP) and business impact analysis (BIA) are up to date and effectively communicated across the organization. The role also includes managing incident reporting and maintaining a loss database to analyze trends and implement corrective actions promptly. Additionally, the manager oversees third-party risk management and vendor onboarding processes, as well as evaluating operational risks related to processes and product revenues. This position demands strong leadership, analytical skills, and comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory environment governing microfinance operations.
Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of two operational risk professionals to ensure effective risk control and continuous improvement.
Perform Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) to identify and evaluate operational risks within various bank functions.
Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to detect early warning signs of potential operational issues.
Oversee Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) activities to prepare the bank for unexpected disruptions.
Manage incident reporting processes, ensuring timely documentation, assessment, and escalation of operational incidents.
Maintain and analyze the loss database to identify recurrent risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Coordinate third-party risk management including vendor onboarding, ensuring adherence to risk policies and compliance requirements.
Evaluate operational risks associated with business processes and product revenues to implement robust controls and minimize financial impact.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to operational risk management and reporting standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to raise awareness and foster a risk-conscious culture across the organization.
Provide regular reports and updates on operational risk status and mitigation efforts to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Continuously review and update operational risk policies and procedures to align with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
