Market Square is seeking dedicated Grocery Store Workers to join our retail team. The ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of experience and demonstrate good communication skills while maintaining a presentable appearance. This role involves various tasks essential to the daily operations of the store, including assisting customers, handling cash transactions, managing inventory, and ensuring the store environment is clean and organized. Working collaboratively within a team is key, as you will be part of a group of 10 members focused on providing a positive shopping experience for our customers.
In this position, you will contribute to efficient store operations by accurately operating point of sale systems and replenishing stock regularly. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining sanitation and hygiene standards throughout the store to create a safe and welcoming environment. The role requires attentiveness to customer needs, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting. Teamwork and effective communication with colleagues and customers alike are vital components of success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in finding products and answering inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Operate cash registers and handle cash, credit, and other transactions accurately using the point of sale system.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking shelves and displays to ensure product availability.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store, including aisles, checkout areas, and storage spaces.
- Support the team by coordinating stock replenishment efforts and organizing merchandise effectively.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth store operations.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
- Report any customer feedback, inventory shortages, or operational issues to management promptly.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve skills and store performance.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of promotional displays and signs as directed by management.
