As a Transport and Customs Officer, you will act as the mission focal point with national authorities for the importation of medical, laboratory, and logistics supplies into Pakistan. You will coordinate and follow up on all pre-clearance applications with relevant authorities to obtain required NOCs and approvals in a timely manner, while keeping your supervisor informed of approvals received and any delays encountered.
Your responsibilities will include liaising with clearing agents, customs authorities, and airport authorities to ensure smooth customs clearance, proper cargo storage, and timely release of imported goods. You will serve as the primary focal point with the Amsterdam Procurement Unit (APU) Transport regarding international cargo and all related importation documentation.
Ensure that all importation, customs, clearance, and transport documentation is complete, accurate, properly signed, stamped, archived, and filed. You will also manage and monitor international cargo throughout the supply chain, including pre-clearance, customs clearance, reception, warehousing, and transportation to project locations.
In collaboration with the Warehouse Supervisor, you will plan and coordinate the transportation of international and locally procured goods to project locations. Additionally, you will organize and monitor local transportation to projects, including communication with transport companies and preparation of required transport documents (Mission Orders, Transport Agreements, etc.). Maintain cargo tracking tools and reports, monitor shipment progress, identify delays, and regularly update your supervisor on cargo status.
Lastly, ensure that projects are informed in advance of cargo dispatches and provide feedback on any discrepancies, damages, cold chain breaches, or transport-related issues. Prepare claim reports when required and follow up with transporters to ensure cargo reaches destinations safely, reporting any incidents or delays to the Mission Supply Chain Manager.
Support the Mission Supply Chain Manager in organizing annual tenders for transport and clearing services, reviewing supplier submissions, preparing comparative bid analyses, and drafting service agreements for review.
