The Nutrition and ECD Specialist will provide overall technical leadership and strategic oversight for Nutrition and Early Childhood Development (ECD) programming at the country level. The position will be responsible for country-wide management, quality assurance, and strategic direction of all Nutrition and ECD interventions implemented by the organization, ensuring alignment with UNICEF guidelines, national strategies, and global best practices.
Responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the overall design, implementation, and quality assurance of Nutrition and ECD programmes at the country level.
- Provide technical guidance on wasting prevention and management, MIYCN, maternal nutrition, adolescent nutrition, and ECD integration.
- Ensure alignment of programmes with donors' policies, CPD/MYWP priorities, national nutrition strategies, and organization standards.
- Support district and provincial teams in programme planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Review and validate technical reports, proposals, indicators, and results frameworks before submission to donors.
- Lead capacity building of district coordinators, supervisors, and technical staff on Nutrition and ECD approaches.
- Ensure integration of PSEAH, AAP, gender, and disability inclusion across Nutrition and ECD programming.
- Coordinate with donors, government counterparts, clusters, and technical working groups at provincial and national levels.
- Support operational research, documentation of lessons learned, and best practices.
- Conduct periodic field visits for supervision, mentoring, and quality improvement.
