The Officer, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s EHS program by conducting regular inspections, enforcing safety protocols, and fostering awareness of environmental health and safety practices. This position helps ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations and standards, delivers training sessions, and monitors safety measures throughout the facility. The ultimate goal is to maintain a safe, healthy, and hazard-free environment for employees, patients, and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify potential safety hazards and ensure adherence to established EHS policies and procedures.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulatory requirements to minimize risks and prevent accidents or incidents.
- Promote environmental health and safety awareness through training programs, workshops, and communication campaigns.
- Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor workplace conditions and employee practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Report and investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with various departments to support EHS initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain accurate records related to inspections, training, incidents, and compliance activities.

Required Qualifications

- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an EHS role, preferably within a healthcare or similar regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of local and international EHS regulations and standards.
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deliver training and promote safety culture.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is highly desirable.
