This role involves the collection of blood and other specimens as per doctors' requests, ensuring timely and accurate sample acquisition from various hospital wards. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining all phlebotomy equipment in good working condition and ensuring the cleanliness and proper management of the collection area. Additionally, the role requires careful handling and disposal of sharps, maintaining adequate stock levels of phlebotomy supplies, and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample rejection criteria. The individual will also generate and confirm Internal Requisition Slips (IRS) related to specimen collection.

Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood and other specimens according to the doctor’s instructions.
- Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of all phlebotomy equipment.
- Keep the collection area clean and organized at all times.
- Manage and maintain stock levels of phlebotomy supplies efficiently.
- Ensure proper disposal of sharps in compliance with safety protocols.
- Collect blood samples from hospital wards punctually.
- Generate Internal Requisition Slips (IRS) and confirm specimen collection.
- Reject samples based on criteria outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications
- Relevant certification or training in phlebotomy or clinical specimen collection.
- Knowledge of proper specimen handling and safety protocols.
- Ability to manage equipment maintenance and inventory control.
- Familiarity with hospital procedures and documentation related to specimen collection.
- Attention to detail and adherence to SOPs for sample rejection and disposal.
